MLHS ACT scores released

Mayer Lutheran High School graduates from the Class of 2016 achieved a remarkable growth in the recently-released composite scores from the American College Testing Program (ACT), America’s most popular college admissions standardized test. The Class Composite Score of 25.1, one of the best in the school’s history, was more than four points higher than the national Composite Score of 20.8 and exactly four points higher than the Minnesota Composite Score of 21.1.
“The high ACT scores of our students reflect the strong academic preparation they receive throughout their elementary and high school years,” shared Mayer Lutheran Principal, Kevin Wilaby. “Beginning as freshmen, our teachers challenge their students in every course with strategies to succeed in taking the test. We believe that great teaching and intentional strategies for mastering the ACT are the essential ingredients of a high overall Class Composite Score.”
“The quality of students at Mayer Lutheran reflects their families’ efforts to make a rigorous education a priority in their homes,” added Joel Landskroener, the school’s Executive Director. “The students at Mayer Lutheran are prepared for the rigors of college and beyond. The average college scholarship and aid package of $80,000 per graduate at Mayer Lutheran is a direct result of the high value our students place in learning and the value colleges believe are found in our scholars as well!”
