Attention Crusader fans. What a great night to be a Crusader as our football team opened the playoffs on our campus with a 28-6 win over Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg. This moves our boys on to the section semifinals, where they will travel to Upsala to face the Cardinals. This game will be next Tuesday, October 20 at 2:00 pm. That is correct, 2:00 pm. Upsala’s field does not have lights.
In an ongoing effort to provide the best experience for our students and their families, Mayer Lutheran High School is arranging for transportation to this event. This is open to all who wish to take advantage of it: students, parents, grandparents, relatives, and fans. The busses will load at MLHS at 11:30 am on Tuesday, October 20. The busses will NOT stop for lunch, so those riding should plan accordingly. The cost of the round trip is $5 per person. To sign up for the bus, students can sign up in the Association Office on Monday or Tuesday. Adults who would like to ride can email me at kris.gustin@mayerlutheran.org. Payments need to be made prior to bus departure. Students who ride the fan bus to the game will be required to ride it back unless a parent is present at the game and checks them out with the bus supervisor.
In order to accommodate this departure time, school will dismiss at 11:30 on Tuesday, October 20. Students who will be driving themselves to the game are expected to be in school until this dismissal. Students who are not attending the game are free to go home following the 11:30 dismissal. Students who ride the South route (Mrs. Barlau) will leave after school. Students who ride the Watertown-Mayer bus, the Waconia bus, and the North Route (Pastor Alvarez) will leave at the normal time. The Media Center will be available for these students.
