Supporters of Mayer Lutheran gathered on Saturday, August 26th to watch a group of 10 representatives from the Building Committee, MLHS faculty and staff, the student body and the campaign committee break ground for the fieldhouse, new entrance and administrative office expansion project.
The Lord provided a cool but dry afternoon for the ceremony, which began with Pastor Stefan Wismar reading from Scripture about building on a proper foundation and asking the shovelers to turn over the earth in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, “that this fieldhouse which will be built here may serve as a place where God will cause his name to dwell and where He will come to His people and bless them.”
While the raising of the $2.1 million in gifts and pledges is an exciting milestone that allows MLHS to begin the project, the support of God’s faithful people is needed to raise the additional $2.9 million to pay for the total cost of the project. To make a donation, visit our donation page.
