The Mayer Lutheran High School Theater Department presents Seussical™ on April 21-23.
Based on the works of Dr. Seuss, Seussical™ takes you from the Jungle of Nool to the Circus McGurkus to the invisible world of the Whos as the Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust that contains the Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.”
Horton faces a double challenge: not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left in his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Ultimately, the powers of friendship, loyalty, family and community are challenged and emerge triumphant.
Bring the whole family and enjoy colorful characters, costumes and scenery and a toe-tapping score that includes “The Thinks You Can Think,” “It’s Possible,” “Alone in the Universe,” and “Green Eggs and Ham.”
Reserved seating tickets are available online on our Tickets page. General admission tickets will be available at the door. Performances are Friday and Saturday, April 21 and 22 at 7 PM and Sunday, April 23 at 2 PM.
