Mayer Lutheran High School recently received news that the school is a recipient of a $5,000 matching grant from the Minnesota Twins Community Fund’s Fields for Kids to help in renovating the Oswald Hoese Field on the school’s campus.
“Congratulations on being selected for a Twins Fields for Kids grant! We appreciate all that you do for youth baseball/softball in your community and look forward to working with you during the duration of this project,” wrote Stephanie Johnson, Senior Manager of Community Relations for the Twins.
“We are excited to receive this generous gift from the Twins Community Fund,” shared Dave Lane, the school’s baseball coach. “Baseball has been a mainstay in the Mayer community for many years and our ability to upgrade the field with new fencing and dugouts will help our kids and other local teams have a safer and more enjoyable experience as they play this great game.”
“This grant means way more than just improving our baseball facility,” added Joel Landskroener, Executive Director at Mayer Lutheran. “Knowing that we are acknowledged and encouraged by a great community organization like the Twin’s Community Fund makes us even that much more proud to live, work, and play in our great State of Minnesota.”
